Himachal Governor, CM express grief over rail mishap

 Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday expressed grief over the death of two British nationals in a rail mishap near Parwanoo, about 90 km from here.

The chief minister said there were 37 passengers on board out of which 34 were from United Kingdom.

"We are in touch with the UK Embassy authorities," he said in a statement here.

Two British nationals were killed and 10 others injured when three carriages of a toy train that was carrying a group of tourists from Britain derailed this afternoon near Parwanoo between the Kalka and Taksal stations.

The injured after first aid at ESIC hospital in Parwanoo were shifted to Max Hospital in Chandigarh and condition of two injured persons is stated to be critical.
