The Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Ordinance?2014 provides for regularising the deviations in approved building plans up to 70 per cent, including commercial buildings and even cases where the plan had not been approved, in areas covered under the TCP Act.

About 25,000 illegal structures wherein the deviations was up to 70 per cent would be regularised.

The errant builders would have to apply for regularisation within 30 days and the cases would be decided within six months by the government.

The government had decided to bring the regular amendment bill during the monsoon session of the Assembly but the same was abruptly adjourned sine die and the government decided to take the ordinance route.
