Shimla: Police personnel in Himachal
Pradesh have been asked not to mention their surnames or caste
in official communications.
All officials have been advised not to use their surname
or caste while addressing each other in all official and semi-
official communications in order to develop "team spirit and
not the groups based on region, religion, caste and language",
a spokesman of police department said.
Further, all the police officers have been directed to
sensitise their subordinates to discourage use of caste or
surname in official and semi-official communications and
interactions, the spokesman said.
