HP govt strengthens civil defence

Shimla: Civil defence and fire services have
been strengthened in Himachal Pradesh with the state
government sanctioning of 64 posts, including that of 50
firemen and four company commanders.
Chief Minister PK Dhumal announced this today after
presiding over the 49th Raising Day of Himachal Home Guards
and Civil Defence Organisations at historic Ridge here.
He said the state government has allocated Rs 2.60 crore
in the last two years to the Home Guards Department to create
a sound infrastructure to facilitate efficient services to the
people.
