Himachal Police has appealed to CBI to ask Interpol for issuing a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Hawala agent Balwant Singh, accused of sending money to ISI agents.

Nahan: Himachal Police has appealed to
CBI to ask Interpol for issuing a Red Corner Notice (RCN)
against Hawala agent Balwant Singh, accused of sending money
to ISI agents, to bring him to India for investigations.

Himachal DGP D S Minash said, "The Hawala-ISI nexus
became known after the state CID arrested an ex-servicemen
acting as ISI spy and the persons sending money to Hawala
agents in India from Bangkok was identified as Balwant Singh
who was transferring money to Amrik Singh."

He said that no such notice has yet been issued in
connection with foreign currency seized from Tibetan spiritual
leader Karmapa-backed trust at Gyuto Monastery at Sidhwari and
the state police was investigation the case in the normal
course.

Himachal Police had yesterday sought the help of the
Interpol for Red Corner Notices in respect of some persons
suspected to be involved in the foreign currency haul from
Karmapa`s house in Dharamsala.
