Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Monday said an independent probe was going on into the incident of a state minister`s personal security officer allegedly firing at a man here over a parking dispute.

"We are taking the incident seriously. There is no pressure on the government. The law will take its own course," he told the state assembly in reply to the calling attention motion moved by BJP`s Shimla legislator Suresh Bhardwaj.

The chief minister said following the statement of victim Kashish Khanna, the main accused Pankaj Sharma has been arrested along with driver Rakesh Kumar.

"They have been sent to judicial custody till April 16...further investigation is on," Singh said, adding that the security officer and the driver have been suspended from service.

Bhardwaj said the incident showed the international tourist destination Shimla in bad light.

The police on Friday booked the personal security officer of Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri for allegedly firing from his service revolver.

Official sources said the dispute was over the parking of a vehicle. The minister was also present in the hotel when the firing took place.
