Shimla: The piercing cold wavy sweeping
Himachal Pradesh tightened its grip today as mercury recorded
a further fall.
Shimla experienced the coldest night with temperature
dipping to 2.7 degree C while Sundernagar, Solan and Bhuntar
reeled under freezing cold wave conditions with minimum
temperature at minus 0.3 degree, minus 0.3 degree and 0.3
Una , Palampur and Dharamsala also recorded a low of
3.7 degree, 4 degree and 4.4 degree Celsius while Kalpa and
Keylong in tribal districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti
recorded a low of minus 3.2 and minus 3.4 degree C
The high altitude tribal areas had no respite from cold as
the minimum temperature ranged between minus eight and minus
14 degrees C, causing freezing of natural sources of water
like lakes, springs and tributaries of major rivers.
