Shimla: Anguished over the conduct of opposition Congress members for staging a walkout from the Himachal Pradesh Assembly against the ruling of the chair, Speaker Tulsi Ram Friday asked them to maintain the decorum of the house.

Admonishing the Congress members for staging a walkout Thursday after his ruling over expunging some remarks from the house proceedings, he said three of the members had themselves adorned the chair of speaker in the past and they were well conversant with rules and procedures.

"I am leaving it to your conscience to decide whether the decision to defy the chair was appropriate or not," he added.

Without naming any member, he asked the members to conduct themselves in a dignified manner and maintain sanctity of the house.
