Suspended IPS Indoria surrenders in Himachal

Suspended IPS officer KK Indoria, evading arrest for 2 months after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected, surrendered before police at Kullu.

Shimla: Suspended IPS officer KK Indoria,
who was evading arrest for two months after his anticipatory
bail plea was rejected by the Supreme Court in a graft case,
surrendered before police at Kullu on Friday.

"Indoria, who was absconding for over two months, today
surrendered before vigilance and anti-corruption bureau at
Kullu, where a case of bribery was registered against him,"
Additional DGP KC Sadyal said.

A sessions court in Kullu had ordered arrest of Indoria
on June 15 after his fresh anticipatory bail plea was
rejected.

The state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau had
registered a case against Indoria, an IPS officer of Himachal
Pradesh cadre, for allegedly taking bribe from a hydro-power
company during his posting as SP, Kullu, between 2009 to 2010.

Police has arrested his close associate who allegedly
collected money on his behalf.

The hydro-power company had confirmed that a payment of
about Rs 25 lakh had allegedly been made to Indoria at
different stages, police said.
