New Delhi: As part of its corporate social responsibility, Telecom major Ericsson in tie up with 12 major engineering universities and institutions Thursday launched a professional certification programme to train and hone skills in the sector.
The programme, EXCEL, was officially launched by Ericsson India President Gowton Achaibar here after signing MoU with major institutes like Amity School of Telecom -Noida, Institute of Technology & Management -Gurgaon and NIT, Durgapur/ Jadavpur University.
"EXCEL is a strategic move to bridge the deficit of contemporarily skilled telecom professionals in the industry. We aim to use this forum to build a healthy academia-industry partnership with leading institutions to not only reduce demand and supply gap but also benefit the entire student fraternity. Besides helping the industry access market-ready talent, the programme will enable students to gain valuable real life perspective," Achaibar said.
The programme includes a blend of online web-based trainings and interactive seminars delivered by experts, weaving in contemporary curriculum covering 2G, 3G, IP, Multimedia, and VAS fundamentals.
The institutes included in the programme are Amity School of Telecom -Noida, Institute of Technology & Management- Gurgaon, NIT Hamirpur, Banasthali Vidyapeeth-Rajasthan, LNMIIT-Jaipur, VIT -Pune, Cummins COE for Women-Pune, DA IICT-Ahmedabad, MS Ramaiah -Banagalore, VIT-Vellore, NIT - Durgapur/Jadavpur University and BEC –Shibpur
