New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday four of the 16 accused in the 1993 Rajdhani Express blasts case.

A bench comprising Justices FML Kalifulla and UU Lalit delivered the judgement.

Senior advocates Sanjay Hegde, RS Sodhi, Ratnakar Dash and advocate Nitya Ramakrishnan had appeared for the accused. Advocate PK Dey had appeared for the Central Bureau of Investigation.

In December 1993, trains including a Rajdhani Express were targeted by the accused, a year after the Babri Masjid demolition.

In 2004, the TADA court had found the accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The accused had then filed an appeal in the Supreme Court.
