After PM Modi's radio success, Parrikar too goes live

Prime Minister Narendra Modi went live on All India Radio (AIR) to connect with millions of Indians on his thoughts and musings. Now, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has gone a step ahead.

Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi went live on All India Radio (AIR) to connect with millions of Indians on his thoughts and musings. Now, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has gone a step ahead.

Parrikar will go live on AIR as well as Doordarshan Friday (Nov 14) to answer queries from the audience.

This will be his first interaction since he was inducted into the union cabinet Nov 9.

A government statement issued here Thursday said Parrikar will participate in a live phone-in-programme of Panaji Doordarshan between 5.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. Friday.

However, unlike Modi, whose "Mann ki Baat" was a monologue on radio, the former Goa chief minister will take queries from the audience live and respond to them immediately.

The phone-in session will be broadcast live both on AIR`s FM station Rainbow and Doordarshan.

This, however, will be a one-off interaction between the newly appointed defence minister and the audience.

Modi`s monthly radio talk "Mann ki Baat", where he speaks for over 15 minutes about his thoughts, musings and vision for the country, has already hit a popular note.
