After reshuffle, no Dalits in BJP core team

Following the reshuffling of its core team, the Bharatiya Janata Party has failed to induct any Dalit leader into the party inner circle.

New Delhi: Following the reshuffling of its core team, the Bharatiya Janata Party has failed to induct any Dalit leader into the party inner circle.

The earlier list of BJP national office-bearers included scheduled caste leaders Thawar Chand Gehlot and Ram Shankar Katheria, but after their elevation to the Union Cabinet, party president Amit Shah has failed to give Dalits any representation at the top posts of the organisation.

This comes ahead of the Assembly Elections in Bihar, where the BJP will be looking to repeat its Lok Sabha performance.
