After Turkmenistan, PM Modi leaves for Kyrgyzstan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday left Turkmenistan for Kyrgyzstan, the penultimate stop of his Central Asian tour.

Ashgabat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday left Turkmenistan for Kyrgyzstan, the penultimate stop of his Central Asian tour.

"Farewell Ashgabat. PM @narendramodi emplanes for the penultimate leg of his Central Asia tour," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.

Earlier, Modi attended a traditional banquet hosted by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

"A traditional banquet. PM @narendramodi speaks at the dinner hosted in his honour by President Berdimuhamedov," tweeted Swarup.

Modi earlier held talks with President Berdimuhamedov after which both sides inked seven agreements and also agreed to expedite the TAPI gas pipeline project.

Modi ends his Central Asia tour with a visit to Tajikistan before flying home on July 13.

He has visited Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ufa in Russia for the BRICS and SCO summits.
