Delhi: Ahead of Parliament's Winter Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that all parties should show support on issues of black money and corruption in national interest.
After an all-party meet today evening, Union Minister Ananth Kumar quoted PM Modi as saying, "PM said that all parties should show support in Winter session in national interest. PM urged all parties to cooperate inside as also outside Parliament on issues of black money and corruption."
He added, "PM also said that discussion should be done on possibility of holding Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha elections together."
"A crucial problem is how to make political funding transparent. How to implement state funding of elections. Let all political parties debate it and come to a conclusion. Let's remove the question mark which exists against those in public life. Polls happen separately. Let there be one election, simultaneous elections," PM said, as per Kumar.
Kumar also said that government was ready for discussion on all issues.
The government is willing to discuss all issues and answer the questions raised by the Opposition, PM Modi was quoted as saying. He hoped for a fruitful session as he recalled the passage of the GST Bill in the last session with the cooperation of all parties.
On the other hand, Congress' Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "Opposition will be united, come what may, and will raise issues together," as per ANI.
Azad told reporters that Opposition parties, including TMC, SP, BSP, JD(U), RJD and others, are "united" and will remain so. Any government's move to break the unity will not succeed, he said.

Meanwhile, yesterday, PM Modi had got support from his own partymen at the BJP parliamentary party meeting which had discussed the steps taken by him to curb corruption and black money.
Also, after an NDA meet yesterday, Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu had told reporters that there was no rethink on rendering the high-value currency notes illegal, saying government's crusade against black money and corruption would be carried to its logical conclusion.
PM Modi is believed to have ruled out any rethink on the demonetisation move.
