New Delhi: BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated a two-day workshop here to train party workers on core party ideology and issues before the nation.

According to a party release, a total of 250 senior party leaders, including national office bearers, and five representatives from each state, among others, attended the workshop.

Similar workshops for the trainers will be conducted in each state where the trainers will be apprised of the gigantic task that the party has taken up, the release had said on Tuesday, adding that 150,000 party workers will be trained in these workshops.

Over 10 crore new members were enrolled in the BJP's recent nation-wide membership drive of which 15 lakh were screened for training by the party.

"Majority of the people, attending the Mahaprashikshan Abhiyan, will be newly-enrolled members," said BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao.

Importance is also being placed on including prominent citizens of the society at all levels and also sufficient representation of all sections of the society, he added.
