Bhopal: In what can be termed as an abuse of power, a BJP MLA from Chandla in Chhatarpur has threatened to chop off the hands of government officials and employees over deleting the names of the poor from the BPL list without any reason.

As per a Pradesh18 report, BJP legislature RD Prajapati, during the Antyodaya fair in Lavkush Nagar, lambasted government employees and officers, stating they will lose their hands, if they won't rectify the errors.

He further went on to say that the government officer can leave the office if he or she does not wish to work properly.

In January 2016, reports had claimed that a BJP MLA from Rajasthan's Bundi district had threatened an assistant engineer of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL) over disconnecting illegal connections.

The BJP MLA Ashok Dogra had threatened JVVNL official Gopalkrishna Yadav that the latter's clothes would be torn if the issue was not resolved while the official was heard in audio clip explaining the legal position that such illegal connections could not be restored and he was just following his seniors orders, ABP News had reported.
