New Delhi: Several senior Congress leaders including A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Sushilkumar Shinde and Kamal Nath were conspicuous by their absence at the International Conference on Jawaharlal Nehru organised here on Monday.
A number of party Chief Ministers including from Karnataka and Kerala were also not present at the two-day meet which began today.
Party leaders said Antony could not come as he is unwell while another former Minister Jairam Ramesh is stated to be abroad. Former Minister Kapil Sibal was also not present.
Former Commerce Minister Anand Sharma was actively associated in organizing the conference.
