Arun Jaitley releases booklet, hails NDA's impact as Modi govt completes one year in office

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hailed the impact that the NDA regime has had in India during the last one year under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's steward leadership.

Ahmedabad: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hailed the impact that the NDA regime has had in India during the last one year under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's steward leadership.

"The government has completed one year under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. There was a function in Delhi where the Prime Minister launched a special channel for farmers, a first for India. The channel lists various aspects of farming, including special techniques, crop diversification, soil, weather and so on," Jaitley said, while launching a booklet on the work done by the NDA Government here.

"The government at the Centre has completed one year, and looking back at that time, within the nation as well as outside it, India's image and the enthusiasm towards the nation has increased. When we took charge, it was evident that India's growth rate was on the decline, investors had turned away and the government was unable to take decisive decisions. There was a policy paralysis in the country. Also, the [former] government was also accused in numerous scams: there was no transparency. In the last one year, all of this has changed despite obstructions from the opposition," he added.

Prime Minister Modi had earlier in his message on the first anniversary of his government expressed happiness to witness the nation on "the fast path of development" and said that the world is optimistic about India and enthusiastic about exploring the opportunities that the country has to offer.
