The kins of Kripal Singh, the third witness to die in the sexual assault case against self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, have reportedly requested for permission to keep a licensed gun for their safety.

New Delhi: The kins of Kripal Singh, the third witness to die in the sexual assault case against self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, have reportedly requested for permission to keep a licensed gun for their safety.

Ram Kripal was shot while on his way home from the market in Shahjahanpur on Friday night. He passed away later at a Bareilly hospital.

The deceased is survived by a six-year-old son and a pregnant wife.

A week on, no arrests have been made so far.
