New Delhi: The AAP on Wednesday ridiculed the auctioning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monogramed suit, saying the event is nothing but a marketing plan to promote him.

Senior party leader Ashutosh said Modi and BJP have learnt the art of marketing itself well and the event was also conducted to promote the Prime Minister.

"Narendra Modi and BJP have mastered the art of marketing. The sale of the suit is nothing but marketing itself," Ashutosh said.

AAP had used the suit to corner BJP's perceived move away from the poor masses during Delhi assembly election campaign.

A Surat-based textile businessmen bid a whopping Rs 1.21 crore in an auction today for Modi's controversial pinstripe bandhgala suit he wore during US President Barack Obama's visit to India last month.
