New Delhi: Condemning the recent rape incident in national capital, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Monday blamed content of electronic media and education system for encouraging rapists to commit such crimes.

While speaking to ANI, Ramdev said that there are three reasons which contribute to rape– 1) Obscenity in electronic media, 2) Education system and 3) disregarding values and laws.

“Laws need to be stringent. Fast track courts should be in place for rapists,” said Baba Ramdev.

On Friday, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a radio cab driver in north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla.

In her complaint, the woman, who works for a finance company in Gurgaon, told police that she boarded the Uber cab at 9.30pm from south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar, where she had gone for a party with friends. After this she hired a cab to go home. However, the cab driver raped her at an isolated place between Sarai Rohilla and Inderlok. He also threatened to kill and sexually assault her with a rod if she resisted him and then later dropped her home after the attack.

The incident sparked public outrage. The police nabbed the culprit, Shiv Kumar Yadav, from his hideout in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura town, about 135 km south of the capital. Today the court sent the accused to three-day police custody for interrogation.
