New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday criticised Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kalyan Banerjee for reportedly making objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Parliament to take note of such verbal offences.

"The very low level of attacks that they (the TMC) are making against the Prime Minister and other senior leaders of the BJP raises serious questions about the political culture that the Trinamool Congress is trying to create," BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao told ANI here.

"I think Trinamool Congress leadership will take note of it and will not encourage such comments. The Parliament should also take note of it and pass necessary strictures against the MP who has unleashed verbal abuse," he added.

On Tuesday, the BJP had reportedly threatened to bring a censure resolution against Banerjee if he did not apologise for his alleged objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Modi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at a meeting in West Bengal.
