New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, as the next Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Secretary, Department of Health Research.
An official release said that Dr. Swaminathan will be in the post for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He was earlier Director, National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, Chennai.
