CBI registers seven more FIRs in Vyapam scam

Seven more FIRs against at least 77 accused were registered on Wednesday by the CBI to probe alleged irregularities in recruitment tests done by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or 'Vyapam'.

New Delhi: Seven more FIRs against at least 77 accused were registered on Wednesday by the CBI to probe alleged irregularities in recruitment tests done by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or 'Vyapam'.

Three FIRs have been registered against 27 accused for their involvement in alleged irregularities in Police Constable Recruitment Test conducted by MPPEB in 2012, 2013 and 2014, respectively, a press release issued by the CBI said.

The fourth case has been filed against 12 accused persons on the allegations of cheating by impersonation in Jail Prahari Recruitment Test 2012, conducted by Vyapam, it said.

Another FIR is also against 12 accused for alleged illegalities committed by them in Pre Medical Test, 2009. The sixth case has been registered against nine accused in connection with alleged illegality in the Forest Guard Examination 2012.

The seventh case has been registered against 17 persons for alleged illegality in the Police Constable Test, 2013, it said.

CBI has taken over the investigation of these seven FIRs, which were earlier registered by the Madhya Pradesh Police, on the direction of Supreme Court, the release said.

Further process of taking over of remaining cases is under way, it said.
