Ceasefire violation continues; no exchange of sweets with Pak at Attari border on Diwali

Srinagar: With Pakistan continuing to violate ceasefire at LoC and International Border, Indian soldiers at the Attari border have decided to skip the age-old tradition of exchanging sweets on Diwali.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Srinagar on Diwali, Pakistan today violated the ceasefire on the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Rangers targeted BSF posts in BSF (Border Security Force) positions in Ramgarh area of the Samba district with automatics and small arms in an uprovoked firing at around 9:30 am.

They have also violated the ceasefire in Arnia sub-sector of RS Pura in Jammu district. Indian soldiers retaliated with heavy firing.

The prime minister will celebrate Diwali with the state's flood-affected victims.
