CLP leader Narayanasamy meets Kiran Bedi, stakes claim to form government in Puducherry

Puducherry: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader V. Narayanasamy called on the Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Monday and staked claim to form the government in the Union Territory.

The Congress Party has staked its claim to form the government, ten days after the announcement of results of the Puducherry Assembly polls.

Congress - DMK alliance has 17 members in the 30 member Territorial Assembly. PCC President Namassivayam will accompany Narayanasamy, said AICC Secretary Chinna Reddy.

Namassivayam was a contender for the post of Chief Minister but CLP elected Narayanasamy who is not a member of the house as its leader.

Meanwhile, Chinna Reddy said that the party is aware of the contribution of Namassivayam in bringing Congress back to power in the Union Territory, in an obvious effort to pacify the PCC chief.
