Congress appoints new panel of spokespersons; President's daughter finds place

Congress on Tuesday appointed 21 new spokespersons to convey party's views on matters of concern to the public.

New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday appointed 21 new spokespersons to convey party's views on matters of concern to the public.

The party has appointed four senior spokespersons and 17 new spokespersons. It has also appointed 31 media panelists and two media coordinators.

While former union minister Ajay Maken has been appointed as senior spokesperson, President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter Sharmishtha Mukherjee will be Congress' face among television panelists.

Others, who have been given the post of senior spokespersons, include CP Joshi, Satyavrat Chaturvedi, Shakeel Ahmad.

After Congress' poll debacle in national capital, Ajay Maken was appointed as party's Delhi president.
