Delhi: The Congress on Monday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must clarify as to what transpired between him and his counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Ufa.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Congress' Anand Sharma also blamed the logjam in Parliament on the arrogance of the government.

“The stalemate in Parliament is the result of obduracy and arrogance of PM and his government. PM has made no effort to ensure that Parliament functions efficiently, Sharma said, adding, “Opposition is doing its duty in raising issues which are in public domain,” as per ANI.

“The government has no legislative agenda in the Parliament. This shows the seriousness of this government. We made it clear in the meeting with the Speaker that it is up to the government to ensure Parliament runs efficiently,” he maintained.

Taking on the PM for not talking on issues demanded by the Opposition Sharma said, “Parliament has a responsibility to ensure the accountability of government. PM speaks on every subject under the sun. Country is waiting to hear PM's 'Mann ki baat' or what happened between him and Pakistan PM Sharif. We are only left with Pakistan's version of what was discussed and what was committed. This country needs to be taken in confidence.”

He further said, “We don't know what transpired in Ufa meeting. There is no road-map and seriousness in the foreign policy of PM Modi.: Shri Anand Sharma

“It is unfortunate that despite Opposition demand that the PM should break his maun vrat, he hasn't done this so far,” Sharma pointed out.
