Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Monday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on 'Lalitgate' issue during his 'Mann ki Baat' programme and on allegations against foreign minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.
"He (Modi) talked about yoga, environment, women and all in his 'Mann ki Baat'. That is good. But, he did not remember Lalitgate," Rao said.
During the UPA government, Congress leaders like Pawan Bansal, Ashwini Kumar and Shashi Tharoor had quit as Union ministers soon after allegations were made against them, he recalled.
Swaraj and Raje are under opposition fire to quit their respective posts over their links with former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, who is facing probe by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with alleged Forex violations.
On a separate issue, Rao urged Telangana Government to help the family of Hyderabad-based Ghazal singer Vithal Rao who passed away recently.
"A 'charity ghazal nite' can be organised by the state government to help the singer's family as they are facing problems," the Rajya Sabha member said.
