Congress should remember Modi is PM of country, not party: BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday slammed the Congress Party for its unparliamentary remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It is out of frustration, Congress is using unparliamentary and unsavory for Prime Minister of this country. Congress needs to be rmeinied of the fact that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country, he is not the Prime Minister of a party," BJP Spokesperson, Sambit Patra told ANI here.

"And today when Anand Sharma says that a Congress spokesperson will accompany the Prime Minister to speak against him in the foreign land, this only shows what kind of culture Congress has" he added.

Patra further said that this is a classical case of `grapes being sour`.

Earlier in the day, Anand Sharma said that never in our history has a Prime Minister conducted himself in this manner on foreign soil and used the official visit to abuse and malign the opposition.

"We have respected convention and tradition by not speaking when the PM travels abroad. In future that shall not be the case. We will have a senior leader or a spokesman from our side and the opposition in the same country where he is, in the same city which he visits, so that as and when he makes these false allegations and boastful claims against his predecessors, he will be exposed and countered there and then" said Anand Sharma.
