Congress slams Geelani's 'memory loss' on terrorism

New Delhi: The Congress party on Tuesday slammed Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for his 'memory loss', a day after the latter claimed that there is terror in Jammu and Kashmir.

"If there is possibly no terror in Jammu and Kashmir, if innocent people are not being massacred for the last 20-odd years, if the back-to-back incidents of Kathua and Samba did not happen, then possibly Geelani lives on some other planet," Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.

"Somebody can feign amnesia, or selective amnesia, but to have a complete memory loss and to brazenly say that there is no terror in Jammu and Kashmir is perhaps the worst untruth that can be told," he added.

On Monday, Geelani, while attending Pakistan Day celebrations in the national capital, had claimed that there is no terror in Kashmir, alleging that the incidents which have occurred were examples of 'state terrorism'.
