Easier access for Indians: 'Modi raised issue with Obama'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the importance of ensuring easier access for Indian professionals to United States, during the US President Barack Obama's visit to India in January, the government said on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the importance of ensuring easier access for Indian professionals to United States, during the US President Barack Obama's visit to India in January, the government said on Wednesday.

The US President had noted India's concerns in this regard, Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.

Singh also said that as per information available, the US authorities approved 1,68,367 H1B visas for Indian citizens in 2012.
