New Delhi: Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was on Monday admitted to a private hospital in New Delhi after he complained of uneasiness.

Singh, 59, was rushed to Fortis hospital here after he felt uneasy. "He complained of pain. Doctors are ascertaining the reasons behind his health condition," an aide said.

The former Rajya Sabha MP had been facing health related issues for the past seven years and had undergone a kidney transplant.

There has been talk of Amar Singh's return to the Samajwadi Party which had expelled him in 2010 following differences with the leadership.
