Panaji: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will on Saturday (May 23, 2015) announce the Goa Class 10th Results 2015.

As per the press release issued by the board, the GBSHSE 10th Board results will be declared and published online at 6:00 pm today. 

The SSC Class 10 exams were held from March 31 till April 17, this year. The exams were conducted at 24 examination centres in the state and a total of 21,190 registered candidates appeared for the class 10 exams. Of these, 10,447 were girls and 10,743 were boys.

In 2014, a total of 18,103 candidates appeared for the SSC class 10 exams that were held in March last year, Of these, 9,007 were girls and 9,096 were boys. The overall passing percentage last year was 83.51 percent, as stated in the press release.

About the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE)

GBSHSE was established on May 27, 1975 under 'The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975', with the key purpose of imparting education in the state of Goa.

The Board has the power to regulate, supervise and control school education in Goa. Its primary function is to conduct state level academic programmes and examinations for High School Certificate (Class 10 or SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (Class 12 or HSSC).

As per the information on the board website, the main aim of the board is to ‘provide secondary and higher secondary education and, for this purpose grant recognition to the required number of such schools in the territory; to pay special attention to the improvement of the secondary and higher secondary education so that it meets the required needs and standards of economic and social development; to provide adequate facilities for educational and professional advancement of socially and educationally backward communities; to take such steps and such measures as may lead to intellectual, academic, physical and cultural development of the youth’.

The Goa Board SSC Class 10th Results 2015 will be published today on the following websites: gbshse.gov.in  and goaresults.nic.in. Students should keep their roll numbers handy to access their results online.
