Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today dedicated the state's tallest (133 feet) National Monument (Tricolour) flag set up at Hamirpur, online from Holly Lodge, his private residence, to the people today.

State Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri unveiled the plaque at Hamirpur.

Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Madan Chauhan said it was the tallest flag in the state, adding that the monument was dedicated to the soldiers of the district who sacrificed their lives for the country.

The chief minister was scheduled to go to Hamirpur for 'Hamir Utsav' but he deferred his programme as he was unwell and had to be rushed to IGMC last night after he complained of chest pain.
