Mumbai: Though controversial 'godwoman' Radhe Maa, who has been in news recently for all wrong reasons, claims to be a 'pious and pure' woman, very little is known about her husband.

Radhe Maa, who was questioned by the Mumbai Police at the Kandivali Police station on Wednesday in connection with a dowry harassment case, is believed to be married to a person called 'daddy' who has found mention in the statement given by the victim.

At the Kandivali Police station, Radhe Maa was asked to answer several questions, which included revealing the identity of her husband. The 32-year-old complainant, who had claimed that Radhe Maa allegedly asked her in-laws and her chartered accountant husband to make more dowry demands from her, had mentioned 'daddy' as the godwoman's husband in her statement.

Radhe Maa, who adorns dark red lipstick, has earlier admitted that she is married, mother of three and a grandmother. However, it is still not clear who is her husband.

During the questioning, Radhe Maa was also asked to reveal details about her assets, to which she claimed that she has nothing registered in her name.

The police also asked her to provide details about her passport, which she had not yet shared with the authorities investigating cases registered against her.

Radhe Maa also categorically denied instigating the complainant's in-laws and her chartered accountant husband to make more dowry demands from her.

She also categorically refuted claims that she had asked the victim to offer cosmetic material or money as 'chadhava' (offering).

Controversial self-styled 'godwoman' Radhe Maa is facing charges of involvement in a dowry harassment case and also of instigating several people to commit suicide.

Activist-lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt had recently lodged a separate complaint at the Borivali police station against Radhe Maa for running a business disguised as religion and misleading people.

Radhe Maa claims to be a self-confessed fan of actor and former adult movie star Sunny Leone. Her pictures in short dresses, gyrating to Bollywood tunes with her devotees during satsangs (religious discourses) have gone viral on the social media networks.

A Mumbai-based organisation, 'Kutch Ladayak Manch', had told news channels that Radhe Maa was responsible for suicide of seven persons on March 7, 2014, at Ningal in Anjar tehsil of Kutch district in Gujarat.

Radhe Maa, however, appears unfazed with all controversies surrounding her and claims that she is a "pure and pious" woman.

The controversy stricken godwoman has also been accused of obscenity.
