New Delhi: IITians have a reason to go jubilant as international recruiters have offered them handsome salary packages on day one of placement.
According to an Economic Times report, recruiters offered close to 40 offers with salaries of over $100,000 (Rs 66 lakh).
Companies including Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Visa and US-based employment related search engine have offered the base pay of at least $100,000.
ET quoted IIT placement sources, stating Microsoft and Oracle were offering base pay in the neighbourhood of $100,000-110,000. This could go up to $125,000-140,000 and more if certain variables are included.
Visa was another big paymaster offering a salary of around $115,000, say sources.
A few students of IIT-Kanpur have received a package of Rs 1.4 crore per annum – bonus and accommodation not included.
Microsoft has made three international offers at IIT-Madras whereas first-timer Bloomberg UK recruited two with two more are supposedly on the waiting list.
