New Delhi: Intelligence Bureau (IB) on Wednesday issued an alert that several terrorists waiting at their launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) to carry out terror strikes in India might use parasuits or paragliders to enter the Indian territory.
"Terrorists waiting to avenge the surgical strikes on their launch pads across the Line of Control (LoK) can enter the Indian territory using parasuits or paragliders," an IB official said while issuing a warning to security officials.
The report published in TOI, said that besides infiltration, terrorists are also planning to carry out 'fidayeen' (suicide) attacks in the country.
A top Gujarat cop has confirmed the alert issued by the Intelligence Bureau, the report added further.
Following the IB alert, the authorities has imposed a ban on flying objects and paragliding across the border areas. According to TOI sources, IB officials in its warning has clearly mentioned about Pakistan's terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba of planning terror attacks in the country.
Security agencies have apprehended stepped up action by militants currently operating in Jammu and Kashmir targeting security forces and civilians following recent surgical strike by special forces of the Army on seven terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Security has been strengthened at vital installations across Punjab and a high alert has been sounded at all airbases across the state while evacuation of people residing in villages along the International Border is being carried out.
Amid heightened security after the recent surgical strikes across the LoC in which Indian Army destroyed launch pads of several terrorists, a Pakistan boat with nine crew members was apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) officials earlier today.
The BSF officials seized the boat in Sir Creek, a disputed water stream between the Sindh province of Pakistan and Gujarat state in the Rann of Kutch.
All the nine Pakistani nationals were taken into BSF custody and are currently being questioned.
Fishing equipment were recovered from the boat seized by the BSF, an official said.
