New Delhi: IPS officer Archana Ramasundram, who took charge as the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), has a message for the woman of the country.
“My message to women is - have faith in yourselves. I come from a middle class family, believed in myself. If a woman like me can achieve this much, it's not impossible for any woman of this country,” Ramasundram said.
The 58-year-old is the first woman to head a paramilitary force. The SSB is entrusted with guarding the country's frontiers with Nepal and Bhutan.
Before her appointment to SSB, the 1980-batch officer was serving as the head of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
She has also served as the country’s first woman Joint Director of the CBI, handling cases related to economic offences between 1999 and 2006.
