India proud of its strong and valiant Navy: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi on Friday extended his greetings to the Indian Navy as the nation celebrates 44th Navy Day on Friday.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his greetings to the Indian Navy as the nation celebrates 44th Navy day Friday.

"India is proud of a strong and valiant Navy, that has always risen to the occasion to protect our Nation. Navy Day greetings to Navy personnel," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Admiral RK Dhowan also affirmed that the Indian Navy would like to rededicate themselves in the service of the nation.

"On the occasion of Navy Day, on behalf of all the ranks of Indian Navy, we would like to rededicate ourselves in the service of our great country," Admiral Dhowan told the media here.

The Navy chief also pointed out that the nation was essentially a maritime nation with a natural outflow towards the seas and the nation has a vast maritime interest, which has a vital relationship with the nation's economic growth.

"It is the responsibility of the Indian Navy to ensure that our maritime interests which has vital relationship are allowed to develop unhindered both in peace and war," he added.

Naval Chief Admiral Dhowan also paid tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti here.
