India sends back 111 fishermen to Bangladesh

India on Thursday sent back 111 fishermen to Bangladesh after they were released from the Alipur Central Jail here.



Kolkata: India on Thursday sent back 111 fishermen to Bangladesh after they were released from the Alipur Central Jail here.

Officials said the fishermen crossed over to Bangladesh in the afternoon alongwith six of their trawlers which were seized by the police from the waters of Faizarganj and Kutuli in West Bangal's South 24 Parganas district sometime back.

The handing over of these men was fecilitated by the Border Security Force and they state police, they said.
