Indian gem trader dies after falling from 8th fl in Thailand

A 56-year-old Indian gem trader in Thailand today mysteriously fell to death from the eighth floor of a 15-storey building in downtown Bangkok.

Bangkok: A 56-year-old Indian gem trader in Thailand today mysteriously fell to death from the eighth floor of a 15-storey building in downtown Bangkok.

The man's body, whose identity was withheld by the police, was found in the parking lot on the fourth floor of the Thai Sathit condominium situated on Soi Charoenkrung road early morning, according to the police.

Police said there were no traces of a struggle in his room, Bangkok Post quoted a Thai Manager as saying.

A tenant on the sixth floor of the building said that he heard a loud sound followed by a car alarm blaring. When he rushed to find out what had happened, he found the trader's body lying on the floor, the report said.

Police said they will examine closed-circuit security camera footage to find out the motive behind the incident.

The Indian gem trader stayed with his son and often exercised early in the morning. His body was sent to a nearby hospital for an autopsy, the report said adding that several gem traders from India live in the neighbourhood.
