New Delhi: Welcoming the government`s decision to boycott Commonwealth Parliamentary Union (CPU) meeting in Islamabad next month, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh on Saturday said India`s unity and sovereignty cannot be challenged by Pakistan.

"India has unanimously responded to Pakistan for not inviting Jammu and Kashmir Speaker. It`s been responded adequately and in the right manner. India`s unity and sovereignty cannot be challenged by Pakistan and that`s the response by boycotting the Commonwealth meet in Pakistan," Singh told ANI.

India is going to boycott a Commonwealth Parliamentary Union meeting in Islamabad next month in protest against Pakistan not inviting the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

As per reports, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has said that a meeting of Speakers of all states has unanimously decided to boycott the meeting.

The Inter Parliamentary Union meeting is to be held from September 30 to October 8 in Islamabad while invitations have been sent to all the other Speakers in India.
