Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Friday said it was unfair to call the nation intolerant in the wake of some unfortunate incidents in some parts of the country.

Kolkata: Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Friday said it was unfair to call the nation intolerant in the wake of some unfortunate incidents in some parts of the country.

"There were some sad and unfortunate incidents in some parts of the country. But for those criminal acts, don't call the nation intolerant," he told reporters when asked about his view on the current debate on intolerance in the country.

In the face of some criminal acts, it was unfair to pass judgement on the mentality of the people of the country, Ravi Shankar said on the sidelines of a seminar at the airport here.
