Jayalalithaa receives Narendra Modi at Chennai airport; PM to launch 1st National Handloom Day

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Friday, received Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Chennai airport.

PM Modi is in the Tamil Nadu capital to launch the First National Handloom Day. He would also present Sant Kabir Awards and National Awards for handloom weavers on the occasion.

Reports added that Modi will head to Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence for a 45-minute long luncheon meeting at 12:50 pm.

It remains to be seen whether the Prime Minsiter will be accompanied by Tamil Nadu BJP leaders during his visit to Jayalalithaa's residence.

The Tamil Nadu CM is likely to explain AIADMK's stand on contentious issues like GST and Land Bill during the meeting.
