New Delhi: Taking a jibe at JNU students' union President Kanhaiya Kumar , who got bail on sedition charges on Thursday, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that the 29-year-old JNUSU president can join politics as he was getting so much publicity after release from jail.
Naidu also suggested him to join his 'favourite' political party which is almost in single digits in the Parliament.
"He (Kanhaiya Kumar) is getting publicity. He can join politics, his favourite party is almost in single digits in Parliament," said Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Almost three weeks after he was arrested on sedition charges in connection with anti-India sloganeering in JNU campus, Kanhaiya was released on bail on Thursday evening.
Kumar was arrested on February 12 in connection with the event to protest the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru on his third death anniversary during which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.
While addressing a group of students after his release at JNU campus, Kumar launched a scathing attack at PM Modi government and targeted the Centre on several issues.
