In a major development, Kolkata Police on Saturday night arrested Sambia Sohrab, the prime accused in the Kolkata's Red Road hit-and-run case in which an Air Force officer was killed.

Here are few things to know about Sambia Sohrab:-

1) - On January 13, Sambia mowed down an Indian Air Force officer with his speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV)

2)- He is son of former RJD legislator Mohammad Sohrab

3)- Breaking police barricades, Sambia knocked down 21-year-old Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud, who was supervising Republic Day parade rehearsals at the Indira Gandhi Sarani on January 13

4)- The arrest of Sambia came on a day when the Trinamool Congress (TMC) rubbished claims that the former legislator was a leader of the state's ruling party. According to TMC, Sohrab had become an MLA on the support of the Left Front, but he is being projected as a Trinamool leader.

5)- Sambia, along with his brother Ambia and father Mohammad Sohrab, had been absconding since the day of the accident.
