Manmohan, Advani among host of leaders to greet Vajpayee

Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, BJP chief Amit Shah and party veteran LK Advani were among a host of leaders who visited Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence here on Thursday to greet the ex-prime minister on his 90th birthday.

New Delhi: Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, BJP chief Amit Shah and party veteran LK Advani were among a host of leaders who visited Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence here on Thursday to greet the ex-prime minister on his 90th birthday.

Union ministers Harsh Vardhan, Dharmendra Pradhan and Piyush Goyal also paid a visit to the former PM to greet him at his Krishna Menon Road residence.

Hundreds of BJP workers and local leaders also thronged Vajpayee's residence to greet him on his birth anniversary just a day after the government announced the decision to confer on him the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honour.

PM Modi, Advani, Manmohan Singh and Amit Shah are learnt to have spent some time with Vajpayee, while hundreds of his supporters wished him well from a distance.
