Bikaner: Vatsalya Singh Chauhan, the 21-year-old final year IIT-Kharagpur student, has made his father proud by bagging a Rs 1.02 crore per annum salary job from Microsoft.

Vatsalya's father works as a welder and earns daily wages.

The 21-year-old hails from Sanhouli village in Bihar’s Khagariya region.

Vatsalya scored 75 percent marks in Class 12 exam and went to Rajasthan's Kota in 2011 to undertake training to enter the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology.

He scored an All India Rank of 382 in IIT-JEE entrance exam and got himself enrolled for Computer Science at IIT-Kharagpur.

“I took education loan worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a bank for his admission at IIT. We were in tears when Vatsalya told me that he has got a job in Microsoft,” Vatsalya's father, Chandra Kant, told the Hindustan Times.
